At the heart of Cursillo is the Weekend. This is a one-off experience, which runs from Thursday evening to Sunday evening.  It comprises lots of talks, mainly given by lay people who may have never given a talk before, There are meditations & reflections, a daily Eucharist, various other acts of worship, a lot of singing, a lot of talking, discussing and creative thinking, and good deal of eating! Each 'weekend' is predominantly staffed by laity plus two clergy Spiritual Advisors.
The aim of the weekend is to refresh and renew Christians in the faith and to encourage people to think about ‘doing’ as well as ‘being’ as an outward and visible sign of grace.

Is Cursillo for me?
Anyone over the age of 18 who is a baptized Christian whether lay or clergy.

Who is Cursillo not for?
Not everything is for everyone! Because of the intensity of the weekend, it is not suitable for:
1. Non-Christians or new seekers
2. People going through emotional/mental crisis.
3. People who are "closed" to other Christian traditions.

How do I get on a weekend?
You need to be sponsored by a cursillista. If you do not have a sponsor, speak to a member of the secretariat and they will sort this out for you. Also tell your parish priest!

Our next weekend is planned for
3rd - 6th September
2009. Southwark Weekend #35
